Officer called the store around 11:30am on 5/12/10; he stated that he was an officer in said county. Said he was looking for a stolen product and if I would check to see if it was in the store. I told him that I had not heard anything about it and if he could call back after my manager got in. He then said you can just look it up for me I have the serial number right here. I told him I could not give out any information without a police report, he stated he had the report right there. I told him he could bring it in and we could help him in any way that we could. He started to get mad and told me he was going to come in and arrest me for obstructing an officer. I calmly told him to come in around 1pm when my manager was there, with the police report and we could help him. He was very mad at this point.
Around 1:04pm said officer comes in the store and promptly asks for the manager; My manager responded that it is him. Officer then asks if I am who he talked to earlier and I said yes I was, he then pointed at me and said, “I am taking you to jail for obstruction,” which I responded with. “No you’re not,” which then he stated, “You want to bet.” and I said. "Yes." At this time my manager stepped in and told the cop that I was just following company policy and he would be happy to show the policy to him in writing.
My manager and I started gathering the product for the confiscation and the police officer went out to his car to get something for the confiscation. At this time I pull out the store policy manual to find the policy on confiscations and show it to my manger. Officer comes back in and we have everything waiting for him and my manager proceeds to show him the policy in the book and he reads it and makes a comment something like, “Oh, you got to pull out the book.” My manager finishes everything up on the confiscation and then proceeds to call our District Manager, to fill him in on everything that just happened.
So that is what happened to me and work today. I was pretty ticked off after the officer left and it did not help anything that I drank a 5 hour energy shot right before the cop walked in and was a bit jittery anyways.
I replaced the names of my higher-ups in this account so I do not get in trouble for posting this.

Three Years After The Fact
Three years ago at about this time I woke up one morning to find my fiance and dog gone. I had been out of town for two days getting fitted for a tux for my cousins upcoming wedding. My fiance and I had been together for going on 5 years at this point and all I got from her was this letter:
Dear Ricky,
I hate to start it this way, but things really aren't working out between us. I've been trying desparatly to gather the courage to say all of this face to ace but I am a complete coward and I'm afraid I'll say it all wrong. I'm really sorry to leave like this but it is something I really have to do.
I don't know where we went wrong, it's almost like we simply co-exist. We hardly speak to each other anymore and when we're together we are like acquaintances, not a happily engage couple.
I am also very unhappy with my life right now. I feel like I'm dragging this relationship down, like I'm holding you back from being truly happy. I think you've been feeling the same way, if not obviously then deep down inside. Honestly, if we hadn't been living together, I don't think we would have stayed together this long.
There are many other things that have affected my decision, but what I've said here is really the main part behind my reasoning. This has been a very difficult decision for me and I believe it is the best one. I really needd to be on my own right now and figure my life out. I really do love you just not the way you and I both need. You need someone who can appreciate what a truly sweet and loving man you are; I cant get past my own issues to do that.
I am leaving Morgantown and moving closer to home. The water, electric and gas will be shut off on May 24 unless you switch them to your name before then, I know you'll probably hate me after you read this but please give my mom's "china" back to her; it's in your parents' basement.
I 'm sorry for everything.
-Erin
That was all I got after 5 years together. That letter and the engagement ring were in an envelope taped to the TV when I woke up that morning. Because of this letter and the break-up (if you can call it that) I made some great new friends who 2 days after this letter all came over to my place for a little get together to cheer me up, and sadly as I type this I just realized that I am wearing the same shirt I had on that night. It is a shirt that Finish Line employees wore at the time from Brooks that says, Get mo from Life.
All of this has just recently came up because said former fiance has started coming into my place of business a few times a week now. And on top of this I decided to switch the messenger bag that I carry last week and when I cleaned out the one I wanted to switch to I found this letter in it. So the bag I switched to I haven't used in almost 3 years.
Here is one picture of the get together at my place to cheer me up by my friends.

Second day of trip to Sleepy Hollow
Today (Friday, Oct. 30) I actually got to Sleepy Hollow after only one stop, and unlike yesterday this one was on my way, kinda, and I didnt get lost because this town is actually on the GPS. I stopped in Jim Thorpe, PA to see the grave site and memorial to Native American Athlete Jim Thorpe. The town purchased his remains from his widow with the intentions of buidling a memorial and renaming the town after him. Before this he had nothing to do with said town. They were hoping it would bring tourism and the football hall of fame there, the latter did not happen.
After the short stop in Jim Thorpe, I continued on to Sleepy Hollow, it was only about a 2 and a half hour drive from Jim Thorpe. I got stuck on the Tappan Zee Bridge crossing the Hudson River because there was only 2 of the 4 lanes opening going both ways, so I'm sure I will get stuck heading back out of town also. When I got into town I made a short stop at the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and the Old Dutch Church.
From there I went on to the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, which is just a short 5 to 10 minute drive depending on if you know where you are going or not. My main reason for going to this cemetery was to see the grave site of baseball great Babe Ruth. While there I also saw the grave sites of former Yankee Manager Billy Martin and former NY football Giants owner Wellington Mara. This cemetary was huge and finding the grave sites was kinda hard since they had no cemetety maps to give at the office.
Halloween Day my plan is to visit yet another cemetery, Kenisco Cemetery to see the grave sites of Lou Gehrig and Ayn Rand. Then it is off to Sleepy Hollow Cemetery to have a walk through during the day to get some good pictures, then it is a lanterned tour through the Cemetery on Halloween Night. I cant wait for the tour, I hope it is as good as it is made out to be.

First Day of Trip to Sleepy Hollow for Halloween
Started off by going completely out of my way to go to the gravesite of Hall of Fame baseball pitcher Cy Young. That took me about 90 minutes in a different direction. Then it took me about another 60 minutes to actually find where the gravesite is because it is out in the middle of absolutely nowhere Ohio, in a little town called Peoli.
On the backroads to the cemetery I passes probably 3 or 4 horse and buggies, every single one of the Amish peoples on the buggies smiled & waved each time, that was nice to see.
Cy Young, the Hall of Fame pitcher who shockingly is the person the Cy Young Award is named after. 511 career wins, with 3 no-hitters & 1 perfect game.
I am leaving out of the Hazleton Motor Inn tomorrow morning & heading to Jim Thorpe, Pa to visit the gravesite of one of the all time greatest athletes Jim Thorpe. Then it will be on to the Sleepy Hollow area in New York.
